MSNBCseems to feel that these are the 10 worst.

Can't say I fully agree, but I've not seen every one on the list.

I always have to check to see how many of my favorite movies made the 10 Worst list.  Not bad this year, only 3 of my 10 favorites.  Lotsa dumbfucks reviewing movies for MSNBC. :finger:  Roger Ebert gave "The Alamo" a 3.5 of 4.

Nice "Mystey Science Theater 3000" on Catwoman: less than purr-fect?  Yikes!  That's a the sort of lame attempt at a  witty barb that makes your asshole pucker and unpucker.  All the reviews look like they came off the blog of a retarded chimp with a typewriter.  Probably was a shitty movie, but c'mon! “'Catwoman' is far less than purr-fect."  That's all they got?  Again,  :finger:.

I'm dissappointed that Saw, Dodgeball, and Napoleon Dynamite made the dishonerable mention list.  And Riddick wasn't really that bad of a movie... at its worst it was summer fluff.  Why didn't they include the gem SuperBabies: Baby Geniuses 2?

Riddick...is one of the very best dvd transfers ever made, but does have some cheesy dialog.
Visually...its great.

The mumber 1 loser should be The Big Bounce....anyone see that stinker?

It may not be high art, but I thought Dodgeball was hilarious.  Chronicles of Riddick was a much better film in it's Extended Directors Cut version, but I enjoyed it in the theater.  Naturally I loved Resident Evil, although I'm not shocked that those guys didn't get it.

Interestingly, the same yokels list of the best & worst TV shows was also a by-the-numbers, no-original-thought-required affair.  MSNBC might be a good place to get info on how to flirt or outwit high credit card fees, but I don't think anyone takes anything they write too seriously.

Hey I liked Riddick too

Was Day After Tomorrow this year or last? I just watched it tonight for the first time, boy that one's a stinker (just my opinion!!).

I actually liked Van Helsing enough to watch it twice. Maybe it was just Kate, but I did like it in spite of knowing it was pretty hoky.

Watched Day after Tomorrow this weekend. The visuals and sound were pretty cool, but the dialog and overall flow were pretty bad. I mighht watch again someday just for the look and sound.

Saw 'The Big Bounce'.... only two things saved it for me and they were the chick and the island.  If it had taken place in Detroit or even NY, I would have been pissed that I had wasted my money.  If I remember correctly though I didn't pay to see it any way (free movie passes), but it was most certainly a one time view.

No 'worst' list is ever complete without a Ben Affleck flick on it...MSNBC got that right.

I would rather see VanHelsing take the place of Riddict on that list...At least I enjoyed some of Riddict(DVD), VanHelsing got totally boring after the first 30minutes. I liked Butterfly effect, very interesting storyline...maybe it went over the head of MSNBC...

I looked at their top 10 list... I was surprised to see LOTR missing entirely.  There's been some good movies this year, that's for sure... Catch Me if you Can, the Aviator, LOTR, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow...  were the first few off the top of my head.  I just saw Dodgeball and it was exactly what it hyped itself to be... and I liked it enough to own it.  Good ol' slapstick...

I really don't understand why anyone reads MSNBC, CNN, Reuters, or any other 'news source' and puts any merit to it.  People with less relevant opinions than myself... writing to cater to the advertisers...  Maybe MSNBC is a training ground for Stereophile?

I though VH could've dropped a half-hour and been a little better.  I really liked Dodgeball, but then I love stupid movies.

Finally watched VH a few nights ago.  I think it would have been a lot better if they hadn't taken themselves as seriously as they did.  It had great potential but the execution was flawed.  I don't think that it was one of the worst movies of '04 though.

Granted "Troy" wasn't Oscar material but to call it the worse movie of 2004 just shows once again that Ebert is a bored egocentric bufoon that simply wants to draw attention to himself by being eccentic and outrageous. Besides if it wasn't for Siskel, who really knew his shit, he'd be just another obsolete old geezer watching Dr. Zhivago on AMC.

It's fun to pick stinkers that a lot of people mistook for good movies: Kinsey, I Heart Huckabees.

Oooh... New York Minute...  I have to give Ebert some credit on picking it for his list.  Most people don't have it on theirs (I think they forgot about it).

I'm a big fan of The Whole 9 Yards (one of my favorite re-watchables).  Although The Whole 10 Yards was disappointing, it was hardly on the worst 10 list.  Mediocre at worst, IMO.

Never saw Riddick.

Enjoyed Van Helsing for what it was.

I loved the Butterfly Effect.  I was so interested in the creative and thought-provoking storyline I didn't really notice the bad acting that seemed to irratate them.  I thought about that movie for about 2 weeks after I saw it.... reminded me a lot of Memento, one of my all time favs.

As a history buff, I think Alexander is god awful.  I agree that it should be in the list.
