The worst DVD that I own is Battlefield Earth with John Travolta.  There are so many others that I had to limit the choices to my own collection.  Although I've watched scenes from NBK, I've never seen the movie.  I had no idea it was that bad.  Now I'm curious.

These are movies that leave a lot to be desired, but most seem to be stories that are unliked, which is a big part of a bad movie I will admit.  My qualifications for a bad movie are one where the acting is so bad, you can imagine the scrawled cue cards beside the camera, that were without a doubt written by jailed morons that didn't graduate from kindergarten.  Bad acting, good script, fine.  Good acting, bad script, yeah, I can take it.  Both bad, and well, nuf said.

I can't label a movie a bad movie if I enjoyed it in any way, even if I know it was indeed bad.  Having a Netflix membership has allowed me to see some of the worst movies of all time, and as any of my close friends can tell you, I have a knack for picking TERRIBLE movies.

All this being said, there is one movie that is so bad, it makes the League of Extraordinary Gentleman seem like Citizen Kane.  As many bad movies as I have watched, I have NEVER seen one come close to this level of pure badness.  It offends me to think of how many copies of this movie exist and the wasted paper, film, plastic, etc. that is a result.  The only movie I have ever watched where I was uncomfortably embarrassed from start to finish, and then for the next few days.  This movie is "The Omega Code".  Don't go watch it if you haven't seen it just to see how bad it is, you are better off being blissfully unaware.

I've seen many of the movies on the list so far, and while being pretty bad, can't even begin to compete with the wretchedness of Manos, the Hands of Fate.

There was a time where I like to watch whatever was on the "Top 10" lists.  Sadly, I don't think I have whatever these people have.  For instance, I hated "Heavenly Creatures," but everyone else seems to like it:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110005/

It was on multiple Top 10 lists that year.  I don't think it's one of the worst ever, but I couldn't watch it the whole way through.

There are sooooo many bad Stephen King movies out there it's not funny.
But, "Maximum Overdrive" takes the cake.
When I first watched it, I was an impressionable young teen and even then did I think it blew chucks. Not even the AC/DC soundtrack saves it...
What a load of $h|+!
I would say that 90% or S.K. movies suck. There's of course some good ones but the dude is involved with OVER 100 movies, he's bound to make a couple of good ones...

I judge a crap movie based on 1) will I finish watching it and 2) if I've bought the DVD will it IMMEDIATELY go up for sale.

The two that qualify in most recent memory are

Eyes Wide Shut - the worst pile of dung I can remember seeing.  I'm sure there are worse, but my GOD this was horrible.

Artificial Intelligence - Not quite as bad as EWS but still unfinishable.

Geez, Nathan...I actually liked Omega Code enough to buy it on DVD!   I sure won't try to defend it as a *great* movie, but except for the crappy ending I thought it was okay.  But I like Casper Van Dien (although I can't come up with a good reason why) and I think Micheal York is awesome!

I never saw "Battlefield Earth"- I despise Travolta with every fiber of my being, plus the reviews were merciless.  Yeah, there's some bad ones I had the sense to skip, so obviously there could theorietically be something worse than NBK.  Still, casting Woody from cheers and having Stone direct is gives it a little extra burst of suck to put it over the top for me.  Er, or is that under the bottom?

Althought I haven't seen them (and shudder at the thought), between "Battlefield Earth" and a duo of Costner flops (Waterworld & The Postman) we might have a strong contender for WMiHH.

Aw, come on guys, I thought you were talking the worst of the worst!  So far I've only seen really bad movies listed.  Any one of these will make the above listed movies look like Federico Fellini's Finest (or whoever):

Andy Warhols'  Trash - Yes, it was...

Freaks - truly stomach turning...

The Crawling Hand - aka The Creeping Hand, Tomorrow You Die, etc.  Stars Alan Hale Jr.!  And the hand can hitchhike!

Plan 9 From Outer Space - Bela Lugosi died of a heroin od halfway through the filming, so they simply changed the plot... half way through!

Poor White Trash, Part II - We went to see this one because we missed Part I, if there was one....

Picking low buget no talent bad movies is too easy. It's more fun to single out movies that have something going for them like money/talent that turn out awful. Grease 2 being a perfect exampe-at least the money part. I need a cool cool cool cool rider.

Gigli anyone?  How about Jersey Girl?  Don't know if they were the worst but I really could not stand either.  Need to give this more thought.

Some of those movies listed are so awful that they're actually funny and enjoyable.  Battlefield Earth sucks so bad as to boggle the mind.  However, it's actually fun to watch with a few friends and a lot of beer.  Same with Showgirls.

The truly worst movies are those which suck so bad they just suck.  For me, those films are pretty much anything made by Michael Bay/ Jerry Bruckheimer.  Armageddon takes the top spot.  That's the most obnoxious and horrible movie I've ever seen.  In fairness,  Pearl Harbor may actually be worse, but I've successfully managed to avoid watching it.  You don't have to eat a piece of dog poop to know it tastes bad.

Yeah, at least with Showgirls you get a heaping helping of nice T&A to go with your painfully bad acting/writing.   I've avoided "Battlefield Earth" like it was AIDS, so I'm not sure how nauseating it may be.

Actually, I got wrangled into watching Pearl Harbor and was pleasantly surprised.  I'd heard it was horrifying, but I thought it was merely average, albeit on the low side of decent.  It was overly long and boring in spots, with some incredibly bad CGI, but since I expected a real stinker I was pleased that it was so-so.  I'd give it a 1.5 out of 4 stars ( or 2.5 if Kate woulda got naked).

Man, why do I have a strange urge to watch every movie you guys have listed.....

anyways, my pics for worst movie

1)Broken Arrow - Starring John Travolta.  It was so lame, and Travolta was so horrible in this one, I wanted to poke my eye out to ease the pain of watching this pile of puke

2)Critters ? (the last one of the series, I think it was 5).  This one was really horrible.  You have to see it to beleive it.  You cannot fathom such suckiness.

3)Cold Mountain - Okay so I've never even seen this one so my criticism may be unfair.  But just watching the previews and watching Nicole Kidman give the worst rendition of the southern american accent, I know nothing good can come of this.

Anything with Travolta automatically gets bonus suck points.  I haven't seen "Face Off," but if it's 1/10 as stupid as it looked in the trailers, it would be a serious contender for WMiHH.
