this is the cable that WAR audio in perth use (i believe)... they are the only manufacturer that make such a type and they sound better than anything else in existance apparently... Not that iv listened, but Pat has - and is qualified to know what he is talking about

I have listened to the WAR audio setup many times... its always changing.

Pat won an award at that big audio show you guys have in america in 2001... i forget the name.. for the most real sounding system.

I dont know how much of a factor the cables are, but the imagining is so good that you can watch the coin fall through the air and see it rolling in circles about half a metre wide on the floor on that muddy waters track

Malcolm Hawksford did an experiment long ago comparing the imaging of stereo near and far field, 3 channel, transaural and ambisonic methods to the real thing.

No wonder it was judged better than the reference--hearing a coin fall thru the air??! --I conducted this experiment moments ago, imparting as much spin to a casino chip as possible, wanting to maximize Vd, and heard nothing! Of course there are those who claim to hear the fluttering of bat wings in the belfry.

I can tell you that a one oz gold coin makes a beautiful and loud ringing noise if you flip it hard with a lot of spin.  Of course this is much larger than a normal coin.  Can you see the mad gleam in my eye as I do this?

Call me nuts, but I just tried this with our Aussie coins ...10, 20, 50 cent silver coins and $1 and $2 gold coins. All are round except for the octagonal 50 cent coin.

No noise from the gold coins, very slight ringing from the 20 cent coin, but *very* audible ringing from the 10 cent and 50 cent coins.

Couldn't hear any bat wings in my belfry though ...just voices

I spent the lion share of my honeymoon in a cave in Belize and I most certainly heard bat wings!!

I was in Italy not long ago and the site of this organic swooping sundown phenomenon was amazing--almost Hitchcockian, but damn if I could hear them--emanate at something like 40k if I recall, maybe missing the harmonics from a more conjugal activity in Belizian cave with huge room gain?? O maybe there were bats. Josh would know. Silver OTC cables are for lunatics/audio junkies who need something new to hear something new,
