Hi there!
Newbie to the forum here. Coming off about 2hrs of reading up on past posts but please bear with me for any 'stupid questions.'
For the last 10 years I have been running a variety of modified Yaqin amps. I originally discovered them living in China and have continued buying them since. The last two years I have been on a Yaqin 100B coupled with a pair of Chane Audio A5rx-c.
For those not familiar with the speakers, Jon has a consumer direct model focussed on zero bs and high quality audio. I have loved them but as part of a move I am selling them and they are no longer in production. I am using the opportunity to replace them with something one step up and in my search of high efficiency, tube friendly speakers, stumbled on the Omegas.
I listen to a mix of classical, jazz and electronica.
Amp specs:
Maximum Output: 30W per channel (8Ω and Triode Mode)
Output Impedance: 4Ω and 8Ω
Frequency Response: 5Hz ~ 80KHz
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 90dB (A weight)
My key questions:
- which Omega model should I get if I can spend between 2-3k on speakers? I am having a hard time getting a true differentiation.
- I have gotten used to decent bass as part of Jon's design, should I pursue a subwoofer route along side the Omegas?
- How critical is the listening angle?
- How much space is needed behind the speakers from the wall?
Appreciate any and all input!
