I'm sure this has been covered, but does the quality of the connecting cord from my external HDD to my BDP1 make any difference?  Currently using the flimsy cord that came with the HDD.

It shouldn't be critical, unless it is poorly constructed. No need to spend $$$ for the USB cable from drive.

The digital cable the connects BDP to your DAC is more important.

Thanks, yes I'm using a high quality AES cable between the BDP1 and BDA1
