About to spend some money!

Hi Everyone,
My friend and neighbor turned me onto this site. He has an amazing system and is showing me that there's more to a home theater setup than what Best Buy offers. I'm about to embark on a lot of learning as I attempt to upgrade my system (Denon receiver and bookshelf speakers) to something worth listening too.

I'm thoroughly stoked and am looking forward to what can be accomplished with the right knowledge.

Welcome! I'd recommend trying out some good quality tube gear into the system ASAP. I think that will provide a nice upgrade and show you a different sound than SS amps like the Denon can produce.

OK, so here's an update on my progress...

Speakers - used pair of Prana Fidelity Fifty 90. My friend Dan (rockadanny) had a buddy who was selling them.
Amp - Emotiva XPA Gen 3 (7-channel) - ordered Sunday, should ship in about 2 weeks.
Pre-amp - Emotiva XMC-1 - same order info as above
Interconnects - Emotiva XLR Balanced
Speaker Cables - Zu Audio Mission LC 8ft Speaker Cables - just ordered a pair from this site about 30 mins ago.
