40 years old speakers.
« on: 3 Jun 2016, 04:02 am »
Hi all.
Those are my wife's Karaoke speakers.
Vintage 40 years old Pioneer brand, model ???
The were the family's speakers, until her mother pass away,
then they've been in storage until my wife decided that she needed
a Karaoke set up in our living room.  :duh: :nono:
She use it only for Karaoke.  :thumb:
For our home theater set up, we use the GR Research N3 (Modified)
driven by a Pioneer (Vintage) 100wpc ss amplifier.
They sure don't make front grill like that anymore,
I think it's made out of wood ????
The drivers look like 5 or 6'' bass
and 3.5'' closed back cone tweeter with a basic
(But more than just a tweeter capacitor) crossover.
Bass reflex unit with some acoustic wool.
Of course the outside is not real veneer...
How do they sound ?
I only heard them with my wife (Amateur) voice.

I don't know the model number of your Pioneer but waaay back in the day I had CS-99A's. They were 6 speaker, 5 way, with a 15" woofer. They were walnut veneered. Beautiful looking speakers, sound wise all I'll say is you could play them REAL LOUD.
I bought the cs99a's after my buddy came home from Planet Vietnam with the CS99's.

Martyo thanks for posting your comments.
With a small 4 or 5'' driver those speakers should not play loud or handle lots of watts,
but when my wife sing the Karaoke, it is louder than I can tolerate...  :duh:

When my wife or her relatives or any Vietnamese sing the Karaoke
I try to get as far as I can, so I cannot hear them singing or crying,
it's about the same to me.  :duh:

I don't know.  Steve made the comment about Yoko.  Perhaps the video I posted is actually posted by Steve screaming and he took a video of Yoko to made her seem worse.  We'll have to wait until he chimes back in.

I believe you've found the sound track from the Sex Tape From Hell.
The best Yoko clip I've ever seen is this one:
