Curious about high-efficiency speakers

Are there any good high-efficient speakers out there?  For Danny, Have you tried designing a high efficiency speaker?  Any thoughts on this?  I was just curious.

Not sure what the requirement for high efficient is but most of GR's speakers are over 91 db, if you are looking for 95 to 100, there are a few pairs in his stable that would work..

Danny's Super-V was 97db

Danny's Serenity Acoustics Super-7 was 96db

Danny's LS9 was 91db (but line sources get more efficient as you get farther from them)

Danny's x-statik was 91db

Danny's N3 was 90.5db

And many many more

I was thinking like 96 and up.  Something that could do well with 2-5 watts of single ended power.

You can drive the Super-V's with a low power SET amp.  Depends on how loud you want to get.

Gary's 15wpc PP EL84 battery amps will drive them nicely.

My Pass Labs Aleph2 monoblocks would drive you out of the room if wanted with 100wpc.

I still have a pair of V-1's (97db) and a pair of Super-V's (97db) that I really need to do something with. I can make some deals...

I drove my V1s with a Bottlehead Stereomour (2A3/3.5watts) to 105db as read on an old RadioShack analog dB meter in a small room, sounded great!  I am currently driving my Wedgies with the same amp although I am building a Bottlehead Kaiju 300B amp.  Keep in mind both of these speakers use the main amp for 200Hz and up, below that the servo amps take over.

Best,
Ed
