Nice,
exactly what I'm after in the Ebony finish. Hopefully order later in the year once I've upgraded my amp and got a new turntable. Can't make my mind up which amp to go for. Was thinking Decware for a while but recently seen some nice amps from Time bandit audio and Kurashima. I particularly like the look of their 2a3 intergrated. Whatever they should all sound great through a pair of alnico monitors.

Hi Guys,

My Outlaw Super 3XRS 1.5s arrived last Friday.  I am very pleased with the quality of the sound (and build) thus far and highly recommend 1.5s to fill in the bass and mid-bass.  Dispersion is much better than expected. Thank you Louis for such a fine product.  My only issues is too much loudspeaker efficiency, now I do not have enough control over the volume setting but that is a very good issue to have.  I do believe that the first watt is the best watt, thank you Nelson Pass.

Hi jcake5,

Many thanks for your post and great news. I really appreciate your kind words and I am so thrilled with the sound of the 1.5 way XRS's too. The configuration really fleshes out the mid-bass and both drivers working together work half a hard which is a big plus.

I took pictures so I will get them ready to post.

Thanks again,
Louis

I like that the mastermind behind these fine products takes the time to chime in on the ongoing discussions!

Louis,

NICE!  So the ONLY change is the extra 0.5 driver at the bottom.  Speaker dimensions have not changed?  I'm assuming that the transients of the speaker gets faster with the two drivers, but same volume?  And does mids and lower mids gets fuller?

Hi Ultralight,

Thanks and on this speaker the cabinet remains the same size. I actually was extremely satisfied with the sound of this setup. Going larger will add deeper bass. I have worked on a number of cabinet sizes and tunes with this setup.

Transients are faster and 2 drivers work half as hard as one. The synergy is amazing because the drivers are the same and only a very good quality coil is in the signal path of the lower driver. The roll off is at 500Hz.

Mid-bass does get a lot fuller and the speakers sound large for their size.

I'm setting up another pair for the Store. This set is in EKO Neutral and will be a great value.

Thanks,
Louis

Thanks Louis for the info. Having your dual RS5 in Bipole configuration, I can vouch that dual RS5 can be absolutely FANTASTIC!!  I liked the Super 3i more than the likes of the KEF LS50 which I owned for over a year, but the dual RS5 is just another significant step up.  (Unsolicited rave.:))

Hi Ultralight,

Many thanks and I agree. I've been building the bipoles for a while now and I really like them. If you have the space they are something to really consider. Can't wait to post more pictures of the dual driver speakers very soon.
I did sell the EKO Neutral 1.5 way Super 3 XRS before I could put it up in the store.

Thanks,
Louis

For all new Omega owners,
be patient it takes about a month or so for the speakers to start really singing

Hi Dan,

Thanks and good break in is very important. I always recommend music to break in the speakers and a bit on the bass heavy side is always a plus. The idea is to get the suspensions loosened up so they can move more air.
The suspensions are pretty tight when new.

That was pretty fast Bigtom and great to hear.

Thanks again,
Louis
