I do encourage you to post your response in the thread.
I'm wondering how the hell these speakers are so different in this aspect. Perhaps Danny can explain?).
I think manufacturers should never be barred from commenting in all circles. This puts the burden on them to maintain their composure and professional demeanor when talking in public. We should by rights hold them to a higher standard than the average Joe who comments here. When they publically " loose it " in front of everyone this gives us valuable insight into the character of the operator of a firm we may be contemplating doing business with. The chance for manufacturers to make fools of th ...
As a response to those wishing to limit where manufacturers can and cannot post, my position and the position of this Forum will be (unless Borg over rules me):Manufactures are a resource that we have that few forums do. Manufacturers are some of the most knowlageable audiophiles. They are welcome and ENCOURAGED to post wherever they want on this board as long as they follow the previously established rules as stated in the FAQ section. They should have a chance to defend themselves, again staying within the rules as set in the FAQ, when they do.
Danny, Earlier in this thread Brian stated that he wouldn't warranty any speakers that you (or others) modify. Do you plan on offering warranty services for the VMPS speakers that you modify?
DW, Don't knock the yoghurt until you have tried it. I eat only the best made from pure miak. Hiccup,Scotty
I would hope that no one who reads these threads gets turned off by them to the point where they won't consider speakers by these manufacturers. I've fallen into this trap myself. However, I've listened to a ton of speakers in the 4-8k range and some in a higher range (I liked Wilson Watt Puppies and Thiels, both of which were on my short list), and the VMPS RM40s best any speaker I've heard in that range and I think match the Watt Puppies and Thiels (though have a different characteristic, too). I'm sure Danny's speakers are also good enough in this regard.
Byteme, sorry for going off topic (which was beginning to happen anyways), but I had a few moments to click on your gallery, and wanted to compliment you on the great job you did putting together your system, and your meticulous attention to detail. I'm sure it has paid off. I also think it was very considerate to post details of the careful steps you have taken to tweak. They provide some very helpful advice.
This thread gave me the idea to treat my VMPS passive radiators with yogurt. Will they be covered under warranty, though? I'd do it myself, not have Danny do it of course.
