BDP-2; Best port to plug in external usb drive
« on: 27 Jul 2015, 07:11 pm »
I am BDP-2 owner and would like your advice that which usb port is the most ideal one to plug in external usb hard drive for music files? And which port is best to output usb audio to BDA-2?
I heard that general rule is not to share usb input music files with USB audio to prevent interference, instead should use FireWire connection for music files input to avoid crashing with USB audio.

Or I should use eSata port for music files external drive input instead?

That doesn't really apply to the BDA or most USB Dac's for that matter.

May I know which usb port of digital player BDP-2 that is the most ideal one to plug in the 2.5" external hard drive which stores music files?

It is because in front of BDP-2 have got 2 usb ports and at the back there are 4 usb ports. I am not sure which one I should plug the external hard drive in.

Hi

It really does not matter but most people use the rear ports for their hard-drive and the front ports for their thumb-drives.

Typo FYI:

In the Bryston BDP-2 Owner's Manual on page 5 it correctly states that each USB port is limited to 500mA, but previously on page 4 it says that each USB port is limited to 50mA.
