'Grid Audio'

That's not bad, actually. It plays on a number of things, but most importantly sounds nice. It sounds silly when you start adding to it.

Maybe Gr!D Audio would be fun. It shows a merger and you can just say grid.

Using a blues name generator for the letters - g (Gary), d (Danny), a (audio) I came up with Ugly Legs Jackson.

Probably not one I would use.  :green:

I went through that thought process as well.  Something that kind of flips the finger at audio snobbery.

Based on battery-related theme, I thought "Acid Audio" would be an attention grabber.

GREAT name! Edgy, and nice alliteration. Plus the inside joke, for those hip to it.

First off good luck with your new venture. Why not just keep GR Research ? Known, respected and easy. Resurgence Audio ?

How about MISSION AUDIO RESEARCH or MISSION TECHNOLOGIES.

I know you are both men of faith so it has a double meaning.

Resurgence Audio

That's a REALLY good one, rollo! Has meaning. Sounds good. Has the word "surge" in the spelling. Is closely related to Danny's original idea of something along the lines of "revive" or "revival." Excellent!

So I've been silently lurking for the last two years kind of embarrassed because I haven't been able to do my speaker build.  (Ran into a stumbling block and then the garage got full and ... yadda yadda)  so guess I'm coming out of lurkkerdum

I really like some of the names so far.  In particular and no particular order:

Off the Grid Audio

#### audio (I like Texas Audio)

Current Audio

Here's my 2¢

Innovate Valves is Power (IV=P)  (perhaps too clever by 1/2?)  I hope you will do a DIY version with a chassis, box of parts, circuit diagram  an set of instructions.  The chassis would ensure the Dodd look of these amps (product recognition + a little extra personal pride).

Next, Grateful Dodd Music  8)   (OK or Grateful Dodd Audio; Grateful Dodd Amps)
G. D. Research   8)  (or Dodd Research)

Welcome back George, great to "see"  you
Hope  you find some  time to start on those cabinets so you can start enjoying  those  TL's  !!

How about   World's Greatest Audio    or  Great Crapp Audio .  That   Ugly Legs Jackson  does have a ring to it      The Best Little Audio House In Texas

Using the Adele Dazeem Name Generator (Travoltify your name)

Dodd + Richie =  Daud Reegers Audio

Richie + Dodd =  Rosie Doon Audio

Gary + Danny =  Graham Deeza Audio

Danny + Gary =  Darcy Geercia Audio

Wind Chaser

Danny,

As you want to appeal to the younger generation, you might be better off posing this question them rather than us. I suspect youthful suggestions will be quite a bit different than what you're getting here. As S Clark pointed out on page 4, Schitt happened by design. The name must call attention to the brand and resonate with the market you're after.

Besides, this is the group that named the "Wedgie". While descriptive of the design, it still brings images of high school bullies to mind  :?

Younger does not imply unsophisticated.
We're talking about components in the $1000 area.
This type of younger consumer would be likely the type to have graduated from things like Beats and may also be a fairly recent college graduate. They already appreciate better sound and may be into vinyl. They appreciate authenticity over marketing hoopla. They like products that enhance their lives by fitting into their lifestyles. While I think $1000 is a stretch for this type of consumer, they may splurge for the sophistication and authenticity factor, but the value still has to be apparent relative to alternative products.

Picking your target market is critical.  Most recent college grads will not spend $1,000 each on a couple of pieces of audio equipment and they're not into separates.  I suggest the target market is older than 20's.
