Hello all again,
Yesterday, I did receive two custom made black vinyl covers from Digital Deck Covers.
These two covers were for my two R2R TEAC Tape Decks, and were listed in their online Database.
Got tired of using Plastic Bags on these Units, and again, am tired of makeshift means to cover my other gear.
While I do have personal Upholstery experience, doing such at the Railroad for a number of years, and do own a decent Singer Consumer Sewing Machine, I am rusty, and at best never thought of myself as a master professional Upholsterer.
These covers I just got are very nicely made, nothing amateurish looking about them, the material is a very nice quality pebble textured black Vinyl, are very attractive, and will keep off dusts and any worry of UV damage for many years to come. (They have a number of different materials to choose from, I chose the Black Vinyl)
I believe I will go forward with some more Covers for many of my components, the Bryston 7BSST2 Monoblock Amps, and McIntosh Pre-Tuner will be the next top priorities, and think I'll also have a cover made for my Sutherland PHD Phono Stage-Preamp. The costs IMO will be worth it. Dusts are a problem here in the desert southwest
So far it does not appear they have the models mentioned above in their Database, but this shouldn't be hard to provide them with the basic dimensions of this equipment. I'm thinking of having a simple flap opening at the rear of the covers to ease installation-removal, and to more easily fit around and cover-shield cabling at the rear of these Units.
I'll try uploading some pics soon of these.
PS: I have no idea who made the cover for my VPI Table, won this cover from ebay some years back. The person was very masterful, with the stitched embossed VPI Logo, and the material used was of a very high quality naugahyde.
