Tannoy DC2000 Concentric-Driver Speakers w Upgraded Xovers

Excellent shape sonically, though the cabinets are a little rough.  I bought these from a friend of mine who did the crossover upgrade.  The cabinets, btw, have some internal bracing, so they're fairly non-resonant--pretty impressive for no-frills cabinets.

If you've long wondered about the sound of concentric-driver Tannoys, these may be the ones for you.  The midrange is big and clear, and the highs natural, and of course there's a seamless integration between the two.  Imaging is excellent as you might expect.   Alas, I think the speakers could use more amplifier wattage than I currently have.  They're a sealed-box design, and even though the sensitivity is rated at 92 dB, the frequency response is rated down to 44 Hz and my battery-powered Tripath amp doesn't deliver the current to really drive these speakers.

Here's some good info about these speaker in their original form:

$350 obo.   The speakers stands, which are sand filled and work very well with the speakers, are also available.
