Yet another truly next gen feature I just discovered. Beyond biographies, if you are listening to a band and they are on tour it gives you a link to buy tickets in your area and a google map to the venue. Beat that, compact disc.

Rclark, who ever told you this"...incremental SQ increases brought by other formats", is flat out wrong! What's more, you have good enough equipment, amp, preamp and loudspeakers, to clearly realize a substantial and what some "audiophiles" would classify, as a life altering improvement in sound quality from one of the Stereophile Class B recommended DACs. Or for that matter any of the other DACs in the $1000 to $2000 range recommended by the host of online publications. Part Time Audiophile, Computer Audiophile and 6Moons immediately come to mind.
Any one of these DACs when fed a HiRez data stream from your computer would astonish you with an amazing improvement in all of the sonic buzzword categories.

Well after a year of daily commute by motorcycle and getting battered by torrential rainstorms and cold weather I got a wild hair up the wazoo and went and bought a car today. Microphones postponed till further notice. I'm sure you guys will survive a while longer.

Theoretically all it might need are tires and shocks. The shocks and struts might bite in the wallet area some. You have to stick equal to or better than the OEM ones.

Tires are brand new, and the car has a lovely ride, even when I punched it around some familiar bends to compare corner speeds with my bike. The brakes are also MONSTROUS. I have driven a lot of cars and have never felt such bite and stopping power.

Cruised around today and fooled around with some knobs and switches. Discovered Sport Mode, apparently this model is the Sport package, and in the timeless words of Tony Montana, "yeah she's a creampuff."

Ok, I'm going to attempt to keep this on topic while we wait, and here's what I've got. This Mercedez has a premium Harmon Kardon installation, with a motorized 6 disc in dash changer.

I loaded some music tonight and CRANKED it.

First of all, it is the best car based system I've ever heard. It is loud, the bass is subwoofer like, and there is no real loss of quality maxed out. I have no idea the drivers used but the car is built like a tank and thus replicates a high end car installation. This car was 55,000 new and it shows here. It sounds fabulous, for a car, amazing really, spectacular. There are many speaker and the stereo soundstage projects realistically on the dashboard. Clean, pristine, punchy, low distortion. A Mercedez Benz, PREMIUM stereo.

With CD playing, how does it compare to a PlayStation 4 into an Emotiva XDA2 into Ncores, into Magnepans? Not even the same universe. It WISHES it sounded as good as Spotify into my planars.

So small little note. I just today got hired for a new managerial position with a huge huge increase over what I was making before, and I start in two weeks after giving notice.

My audio gear collection is about to enter the next stage, and I'll have all the recording gear in a month or so. Also looking forward to substantially improving my system even further in other areas.

Incidentally I will also be severely upgrading the already excellent 3 way stereo in my car with high end amps, and subwoofers.

So threads not over guys.
