I think that would be the best route to take. I would be very surprised if you heard any change in audio quality by splitting the signal from your solid state DAC to a BHA and a BP-26. The DAC has a low output impedance and both the BHA and BP-26 have high input impedance.
Also note a correction I made to my previous post. I had type typed the word active in the sentence "Additionally, with an active preamp you have to pay particular attention to cable capacitance or you'll notice the low pass filter that develops". Obviously I meant to type the word passive. I corrected my post.

Thank you very much! No worries, I got the meaning of it and know you meant "passive" in that sentence.
I suspected a passive solution would have a lot of "if" and "assumptions" that it can be better on certain occasions and under controlled conditions.
I will see about that Goldpoint device that Steve recommended since a selector switch could be useful. I need to think about this.
