If these need to be shipped they can be. However, of course this will take quite a bit more effort to transport safely, and not be very cheap.

Also, it is possible to meet or deliver within a reasonable distance from ILLINOIS.

Thanks

Wow, these are fantastic.  I have an older set of Hornings (Perikles Ultimate) and these are the only items to stay constant in my system for over 10 years.  Every other piece of equipment has gone through at least 2 (or more) replacements.  Didn't realize there was another person in IL with Hornings.

These are superbly musical and insightful, more so than more any other speakers I've heard at any price.  Wish I could upgrade my Perikles to these -- I'd be one happy camper.  There will be a pair of Hornings at AXPONA in April (not the same model), so stop by the High Water Sound room to hear how great these can sound.

Best of luck with your sale.  Wish I had the spare cash.

P.S. As the picture above shows, these speakers can be placed very close to the front wall with great success.  Very room friendly.

dburna,

You are correct. You just can't do better from a design standpoint or cost. Excellent efficiency, and very unique horn loading with transmission line. These are some of the truly engineered speakers today vs. ones that just throw drivers in a box with a port to attempt low bass.

Also, these are massive midrange drivers from Lowther the DX65 none better. They might just be the most expensive 6.5" mid units on the market at over $3000.00 per pair alone!

Good Luck

Oh, I know.  I have listened to many of the flavor-of-the-month high-end speakers and always come back to my Hornings.  I doubt I would part with mine....except for another pair of Hornings.  Those that have heard them, know.  People often assume, at 96-ish dB and benign impedance, that these speakers will only work with flea-powered amps.  Little known is how well these work with just about any amp, even high-powered SS.  They will put out exactly what you put into them, no more no less.....and musically, too.

Last year, I went into the High Water Sound room at AXPONA three times, each time to re-calibrate my ears with soothing, pure music after the brittle cacophony that abounded in most (but not all) the other rooms.  Whoever gets this pair will be one happy camper indeed.
