the bass was *ok*. not as fast, dynamic and punchy as i've heard from other speakers. a good deal of overhang which could've been room induced. side firing woofs require alot of experiment ...
Was that 110db a dynamic 110db? I have a hard time listening to 85db of pink noise to set up my speakers and I never come close to that during normal listening (where "close" is an average listening level, not transients, though I doubt that I have 110db transients). As for changing tastes, my friend sold me his Linn speakers when his tastes changed from rock to jazz. He went to Vienna Acoustics, which are more detailed than the Linns. I've since gone from Linn to VMPS RM40s, although I listen to a wide variety of stuff (not much jazz, though).

The VMPS RM 40s are huge. I'm not sure I'd want a that big of a footprint in my 15 by 21 room. However, your not the first person that has said that are outstanding with rock. May have to check them out anyway.
Hey Q-Surf, I am a big Bob Mould fan too. Anyway, I'm not worried about the size of the RM 40s, but my wife has final say. So, will the RM 30s get me close to the 40s? I already have a sub. Thanks
