Well I really enjoyed building my A/V-3's and A/V3s last year, but I've always wanted to build the X-LS Encores, so I finally pulled the trigger on them. I just finished them a few days ago. I hooked them up, turned on the stereo and smiled. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with them. They match the A/V's so they would be nice as the surrounds, but I'm thinking they're too nice for that. Oh well, I'll figure it out. Present to the Parents? Well, here are a few pics. No upgrades on these besides the No-rez. I had some extra from the A/V build. Ok, I've spent enough time trying to rotate the images...They look right in the gallery...Sorry.

White Oak Veneer and rattle can gloss black. White oak finished with stain sealer and 7 or 8? coats of wipe on poly. I don't believe the imperfections will show up on the pics! I hope...

Just testing them out next to the A/V-3's!

The A/V-3s was feeling left out... The A/V-3's were painted with a semi-gloss enamel using my airless sprayer. I was originally going to do that with the encores, but it was too much of a hassle to run paint through the airless and clean it out for the size of these, so rattle can it was.
Thanks everyone for posting pics/builds etc. It is very helpful...There is some incredible work done by people on this site.
What's next? I kinda want to build a new sub box for the existing sub, but have no idea how to go about that. I would like to build one of Danny's subs, but that is not going to be in the budget.
Thanks Danny for the cool projects!
