Steve Earle - Teraplane Blues (next week +/-)

The Decemberists and Sleater-Kinney were recently released, but I haven't heard them yet (other than live performances on Letterman or Kimel shows)

I am looking forward to a few new albums this year.

Of Monsters and Men

That's good news!  I really liked their previous album.

I love the Decemberists, they are my #1 band right now.  I'm glad you like the new one, as I haven't picked that up.  I listed to a youtube of the Sleater-Kinney, and the song I listened to was great!  I'll have to pick that up, too.

Great!

How does it stack up to 'The Raven That Refused to Sing'?

I'll wait for the official release.

After a couple of weeks with this album, I still can't put it away. The subject matter is heavy, but Steven leaves it somewhat open ended (unlike the story on which his character is based). Musically, I think it's the richest he's ever created. It's definitely a masterpiece. I was most anticipating the arrival of Steve Hackett's 'Wolflight' in a few weeks, but 'Hand. Cannot. Erase.' is going to be a tough act to follow. It's right up there with Opeth's 'Pale Communion', which has remained in steady rotation for nine months now. I'll listen to this one again and again and again...
