Yeah, don't know what he is thinking.  Plus it would be nice for us fans!  Apparently that was not one of his top priorities  :nono:

This is not the first tiime he has said "no reunion". Must be something going on that the public doesn't know about. He usually says he's pursuing is solo efforts and doesn't have time at the moment

The question is, does the rest of the band need the money? I could see them being pissed.

He's 66.  35 dates?  And WTF would he do with all that money anyway?

I've gone to two recent Moody Blues shows, now I see Justin Hayward is performing solo at a CASINO???

I also saw Pete Rose in Vegas signing autographs in front of a memorabilia store. I guess they take what they can get.

Good on Robert Plant! :thumb: I love that he ripped up the agreement in front of the promoters. It just enhances his bad boy rock star image. :green: He's already rich beyond belief. Money's not everything; time waits for nobody. He's already comfortably retired and apparently wouldn't want to endure the havoc of a 35 venue tour.  It's also nice to not to suck up to the billionaires (feudal masters). The other band members certainly shouldn't be having financial problems. If they are, its their problem not Mr. Plants'.

If you google Page and Plants net worth it says 170 million with Jones at 80 million.

 I'd still run around naked

Yeah, but he's hardly an entertainer.  I'd imagine the only jocks who do that pissed their money away and didn't have a backup plan.   :nono: :duh:
If he hadn't been stupid he could still be a MLB coach or manager.  Who's next on the autograph tour?  Lance Armstrong?    :slap:

I read some time ago that Plant and Bonham were best of friends. After Bonham died he was devastated and said that there is no Led Zeppelin without Bonham. I take this as a man sticking to his word and honoring his friend despite what it may cost him. Good for Robert Plant that he was smart enough to not need the money and for sticking to his word.

I think Plant is done with Page and Jones. It is sad because Jason Bonham wanted to take his dad's place and play with them. I saw them four times back in the day. They were amazing to say the least. I suspect Plant has trouble seeing himself try to be in his 20's again as well :D

Four very talented men, that could play together and give each other respect and not fight and argue like a bunch of punks.
(such a rare thing to see..)

That enabled them to reach greater heights, together. Made them the greatest rock band IMHO...

I still rock out to them frequently, got all there albums... just very good stuff....

According to wiki, he does both Moody Blues and solo shows cause he's released solo albums.

Point taken, but the casino thing bugs me.  He could do much nicer venues that focus on him and his art.

Truth be known, I think Plant can't sing remotely close to the way he did with Zep. It could rip his vocal chords to shreds.  :o

Hell, I saw Zeppelin during "The Song remains the Same" tour ('75 I think it was), & he was having to dial it way down even then.

Sad but true.  These reunion tours are nostalgic & feel good, but the sound quality suffers greatly. I'll happily listen to them on my 2 channel rig when they were in their prime . And the same goes for the Stones & any other band that survived that era that I love. Just sayin' ...

Having said that, I do understand if someone wanted to see them 'cause they didn't have the opportunity before.

Good point.  I saw Bob Seger in Boston a couple of years back, and while the music was still good,  his singing was not so hot.

Don't quite understand the math that makes this worth it to Branson (and I wouldn't believe we have the full story anyway) but really, do these guys need any more money? And to suggest Plant owes fans something now, decades later, is just silly to me. He gave people records, he gave people tours...end of the exchange. Maybe he owes some old blues guys an acknowledgement and royalty but that's about it as far as debts to be paid go. Who wants to see an act who are up there only for greed....oh, I forgot, that's the lucrative nostalgia circuit. I've had enough Led Zep to last me a lifetime, so can only imagine how Plant feels when people want him to give up what he's invested in now to go out on the boards again, this time really "for the last time", unlike the last  "last time", for another go-around that old catalog. Maybe if they would just remaster, repackage and re-sell us the 02 show with a mysteriously found new track, people might be happy?

True enough.  Jerry's dead.  He lives on in the music left behind, not the shows his ex band members put on.  It's great people want to continue making music, but for Goddess' sake do something different.  If you have a great legacy, why screw with it. That music was fresh and creative 40 years ago. It's like watching an athlete who doesn't know when to quit.

Those guys all have more money than they could spend in the remaining years they're gonna be on the planet.  How much are those promoters gonna make if the band gets almost a Billion? Kudos to Plant, assuming this isn't just a ploy to get a bigger cut.
