Purely a matter of personal taste, as noted, but I'm with FullRangeMan on this. If involved, Roger would certainly have contributed lyrically, which I think was PF's great failing without him. I consider myself a big Gilmour fan (of his guitar work anyway), but the PF albums without Roger were rather monotonous and predictable...pretentious (and occasionally preachy) lyrical musings followed by a soaring guitar solo. Moody, yes, but not much else.
Quite obvious--to this fan anyway--that David needs Roger, and Roger needs David.
