Not your typical Doc Watson recording, although he did begin his professional career in a Rockabilly band. Featuring Duane Eddy, Marty Stuart and Mike Auldridge.

Cool CB. I 'll spin this one in your honor:

A live set from 1985, recorded at Harper's Ferry Club in Boston.

Check out Hadden Sayers - usually plays in the Austin TX area.

Another one is Johnny B who is a Boston native.

How about Robert Gordon?  I really like his albums he did with Link Wray.   8)

To my thinking, the place to start is with Rose Maddox and the Maddox Bros. It probably hits some apex with Link Wray. Blasters are the real deal, but start at the root and work up.

Yes! Saw him years back when he did a show in Detroit. He sang with my favorite local rockabilly band The Twistin' Tarantulas.
Back when "Gorgeous" George played lead guitar for the band (I think). It was a TERRIFIC show. A very special performance indeed!

I was fortunate to see her live several years back. I do not recall how she sounded (as per her age), but do recall very much enjoying the show.

Maybe not the legends already mentioned, but I always really liked the Flat Duo Jets and Dexter Romwebber side projects.

First album cover : live to two track in the basement or garage.  After that it was just Dexter on guitar / vocals & Crow on drums.  About as stripped down as you get.

Got to see them live in Boston once.  They also had some minutes on the ol documentary "Athens Inside Out".

Really like their albums and still listen to them frequently.

My fav local rockabilly band back in the day - The Twistin' Tarantulas
This was their first release, purchased at their CD Release Party. What a gas it was!

Pistol Pete was on fire.
Gorgeous George was burnin' up the frets.
Todd the Thunder God was poundin' like mad.
And Fast Freddie was shakin' them maracas like it was nobody's business. Sadly, he passed away not long after this release.
