Hi Bill,

Correct - USB only - no AES or BNC and no Soundcard.

I'm assuming this is what converts the digital files and outputs that signal to the likes of spdif, AES/EBU, toslink etc.

So this will replace the computer in the system? A 'digital transport'?

I wonder how do I navigate all the songs? Is there an optional tablet controller or iPad support? I hope it's not like those DAT players i used back in the days... The menu system was almost impossible to use on the tiny screen...

Great news !!  okay - so i was going to get  BUC-1 to play into my 300d version 1 moon -- sold the moon to make way for a Bryston kit top to bottom .

So this is the plan - I can do the macbook  into the BDP-1USB  - then into the BDA-2 dac - into a BP26 - and then the 4BSST2, and then out some Bryston speakers .

Is my thinking clear on this ?

Will the BDP-1USB come in black ?

Hi Kingston

Yes Black or Silver 17 or 19 inch faceplate. BUT - the MacBook is replaced by the BDP-1USB.  If you want to use the MACBOOK then just get the BDA2 DAC and use its USB input.

I thought you bought some Mini T's a while ago?

Hey James !  big thanks !  So the position the BDP-1USB plays is designed more towards those tying a file storage drive to it - then send data down stream to dac ?   Okay - that helps my budget . So i can remove the BDP-1USB from my grocery list

Speakers were this close - and i was smitten and in love with them - still am - then an S4 sedan took my money lol , but you have since added more to the line - so i have to dial in again where i want to be -- I'm now gun to the piggy bank as i sold my PMC - and i need my hifi back real bad !! i have a TFSA just for hifi lol  . If i don't need the new device I'm even closer to ordering a full kit - then speakers !  My Moon gear has also gone to a new home .

HIFI rack awaiting new components - and the insurance on new kit is cheaper than the harley i wanted ! Wife will be happier lol

Can this new digital player deocde ripped SACD ISO stereo tracks to 176-24 or 88-24 or by DoP to a compatible DAC?

Hi James!

Since the Bryston hasn't been updated yet, can you give us a technical brief on the specifications of the BDP-1USB. Is it basically a BDP-1 with no included sound-card or was it perhaps derived from BDP-2 with it's greater operating speed etc?

My estimation would be that it's the former.

Cheers!

HI

It is the BDP-1 with no soundcard or AES or BNC out.
