Which gr research speaker should I replace my vandersteen 3a dogs with? 12×18 room.80% TV and movies 25% music

Either a pair of GR Research N3 TL's or AV3 TL's would be my recommendation. Also, either a pair of N3S or
AV3S with a GR Research 12" servo subwoofer would sound great too.

If you want to match or better the Vandersteen 3A's low bass response of -3dB @ 26Hz you are going to have to use a sub in combination with the main speaker. None of Danny's current models (that I'm aware of) incorporate the subs into a single tower like the 3A's. However, I don't know what the low frequency extension of the LS6 and LS9 is.
If you want to go with sealed speakers you could use a pair of N3S's like Ron suggested and put them on top of a pair of of servo 8"s like rak313 is building in this thread

If you have the room and want to go open baffle you could mate OB servo subs (either 8" or 12") with the LGK MMTMM speaker being discussed here
