I know some of you use them, as do I.

Recently I cut off the outer jacket and removed the ground wire.

Elevate with wood from ground if you got carpet.

It's better.

So you are only using the black wire for the common and the white wire for the red?
This is assuming that the green is the ground wire.
When you say removed do you mean removed from the circuit or physically removed it from the outer jacket?

Physical.

I tried from circuit first, but something was off. Removing physically seems improved to me.
