Have you tried turning off your antivirus program to see if the freezing stops ?

Yes, and the freezing did not stop.

Salis Audio sent me this link to turn off IPv6 which I just did.  Cross your fingers.  Say a little prayer.  Knock on wood.  Throw a pinch of salt over your shoulder. Stay tuned for results.

Turning off IPv6 did not help.  I still have the problem with IE freezing.  My work around is to continue to use IE because I prefer it. Then simultaneously have Firefox running for Audio Circle, other forums, and Yahoo Finance which IE makes a mess of when viewing portfolios in the "Detailed" mode.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Firefox saved the day.

I am having a difficult time logging off. It takes numerous tries. Other than that zero issues.

So some sites work fine, e.g. you could surf them all day and others cause IE to freeze? Bizarre. Id you haven't already said that you tried turning off your Antivirus I would suspect it.

I tried disabling my antivirus (Norton 360).  That did not help. My computer also always freezes when I add a new "Favorite" which is in IE.  My computer also frequently froze when I opened a picture or pop-up type display or new page (specifications table) in a site such as an audio equipment manufacturer.

Firefox works great with Audio Circle and other forums. I expect Opera and other browsers would work as well.  Anyway, I am happy with the current solution--IE + Firefox. I keep some sites open in IE and others in Firefox.  And never the two shall meet--just like feuding relatives.  I just wanted to update the thread and thank everyone for their suggestions.   :thumb:

Windows 7 needs almost 40 million lines of code. These things are bound to happen sometimes.

How the damn thing even functions is hard enough for me to comprehend.
