Bryston B135 preamp out
« on: 22 Jan 2014, 12:36 am »
I haven't been able to find the answer to this:  With the preamp-out/amp-in slide switches set to "connected," are the RCA preamp outs still active?  I want to run an separate headphone amp while using the B135 volume control.  Any downside to this setup (for instance, voltage-drop with two sets of outputs connected)?

Assuming the outputs stay active, would there be any difference (electrically / sound quality) between this B135 setup and using a set of the RCA preamp outs on a BP17?

I assume that all three preamp outs on the BP17 stay active all the time?  I didn't see anything in the manual about switching outputs.

In my proposed setup, the amp for the speakers would be switched off during headphone listening.

Hi

Yes the pre outs are active as well - no problem in the hookup you want to use.
