Thanks Jack - I sure hope so!!  I haven't even seen the cabinets yet - Leif claims they are  gorgeous.  They are talking about putting my build on the website, but you know how that goes..... :thumb:

The speakers are actually going to Cali and will be professionally packed and crated here.  No way I was going to "try" to do the crating myself :nono:

way to go Harve,

welcome to the active side of sound!!......" somebody has got a screaming good deal"...
I think that SOMEBODY is  you!!!!! .....good you finally made the jump .......in style with a customised vr9se mark2.....what color finish did you go for ?

I remember your thread in may 2013.....for upgrades for the vr 7se....http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=116886.0
I my two bits for you and your vsa vr7se mark 2 se upgrade was the track audio speaker isolation spikes.....the only other upgrade was to make the jump to vr 9se mark 2

Harve , especially with  your VAC 450 monoblocks and pre amps .......you will have music coming from all over the room

congrats and enjoy the magic  of Albert's active speaker system

""Harve  to attain sonic nirvana and to sit on the right hand side of the maker! (sonic maker)""......you'll have to add the ultras into your system***........only joking!

Thanks very much Sam - your comments have definitely inspired me. :D

The color I chose was a Lexus "metallic champagne".  I haven't seen any pics yet, but understand the cabinets turned out pretty nice.  No more black speakers for me - too much brain damage to keep clean.....  I did keep the ultras and definitely plan to use them with the 9's, btw.  The Track Audio spikes went with the speakers.  Definitely looking forward to being able to use WHEELS of the 9's - much more civilized. :thumb:

harve

What I meant about the ultras was the MB-VSA ultra cables, IC and speaker cables.......are you using them in your system....what's your views

As for the Vr 9 se mark 2 with the CI amps they are a stunning complete speaker package with heavy duty castors , they are very Mobile........no ball breaking or hernia causing lifting needed

Are you having all  internal speaker wiring done with the ultra's cabling?

I don't think there may a need for your stillpoint Ultras!

Harve , enjoy!....the period of  waiting in anxious anticipation,  then the runin period.....probably part of the magic

Hi Sam-

I finally found "THE" cables for me - I am using Rick S.'s High Fidelity Ultimate Reference speaker cables - they are nothing short of amazing.

Yes - getting the ultra internal wiring(I think).  When Albert tried the ultra discs on another pair of 9's, he said they made a noticeable difference for the better.  I had the same result with my 7's, so will be using them on my 9's as well.  They won't be attached, so I can a-b them after the speakers get broken in.  I would think with the built-in subs, a product like the ultra's would be even more important to be able to separate resonances, but I could be wrong.... :D
