A bit more progress tonight. The best news of all.....
You'll be happy to see the bandages are all gone. She "healed" just that quickly.

Tonight, I taught her how to solder, which she got the hang of pretty quick.
Both networks are finished, and most of the led out wires are connected and soldered.

Navin, I think you're correct, she could have built the TL's, but her room is way too small.

That kid of yours is doing things (soldering) I have never attempted, let
alone build a pair of speakers. I will not (will) sit here any longer and tolerate this.
I have officially reached the end of my joyous on looking and now feel quite inadequate
as I see the really good job this beautiful young lady is doing. So if I write anything in the
future in this thread, it will be unofficial.

Just a heads-up....I think this project is going to be a weekend only thing.
There isn't enough time after school/work/dinner/chores/bathtime to make it worth going into the workshop.

Bob, I believe no thread you have posted before has created the level of interest as this one. Most of us are in our 40s, 50s and 60s and we all have kids and/or grand kids about your daughter's age. Seeing this thread just warms our collective hearts.

My own son is 11. I wish he would have shown some interest in building speakers but outside of football (Americans call it soccer), his iPad (something called Clash of Clans), PS3 (FIFA 14 is the current rage) and his guitar he shows no other interests. Then again it might also be the pressure the schools in India put on the kids that limits their extra curricular interests.

So kudos to you and the little one may you build many more speakers, amplifiers, and other audio goodies together.

Hi Bob and all Audio Circle members.
What you are doing with your daughter is what I call:
Preparing her future.
(Might not be exactly the right way to put it,
but I am sure you get the idea.)
When I was at primary school, our class went out only one time to see a movie a documentary on Africa.
At that time, I said to myself: Boring stuff.
But today, I know something about Africans that maybe others don’t know.
When I was at high school, we went to another school to learn wood working, but it was only 1 hour per week for less than 2 months.
But, I did learn the names of all the tools we were using.
We also had a short 30 minutes movie on the dry cleaning business. It was part of a job orientation, but only one trade is not enough.
I’ve started to learn a lot of different things when I started as an industrial combustion technician when I was 21 years old.
I’ve been in lots of different manufacturing factories seeing and learning how things are made.
Clothing, wood furniture, plastic, chemical, alcohol, metal and food like chocolate, powdered milk and even KFC secret recipy.
I wish all today’s students would have factories tour or would have fathers like you teaching stuff to their children that (Who knows) could be useful one day and even if they never have the chance to practice what they have learned, they would have gained self confidence and proudness of having done something.
When I was 15 years old, I worked with my father that was an electrical contractor, I not only learned about electricity, but also a little about banks, because he had many banks as customers. I always have been curious and that is an asset.
What you are doing is wonderful; I wish I could have done the same with my children, who are now on the other side of the planet.

Thanks VERY much fellas.

Honestly though, I'm one of those parents that should have been spending more time with their kids over the years.
The wife is supporting this adventure one hundred percent to help combat that.

Ryan, I'll tell Abbie you're giving it your seal of approval too.
But I think I'll have her start calling you "Double Tap" from now on.

Painting, this is Bob! I expect to see the kind of finish Rick Craig, Jim Salk and Vapor get.

Bob and Abbie have set a very high bar for other kids.

Rock on Abbie, Bob you just make sure she plays some real music on those speakers, not Just-in-Cry-baby.
