« on: 20 Nov 2013, 08:36 pm »
Need a sturdy 24" stand for my new Fritz rev 5s. Preferably Targets or something as good.

Speaker size
around
Base 8x10
40lb

I'm in Los Angeles

Thank you!

Thank you. Ya the speakers are aaaaamazing!!! I can't wait to set them up properly to really see what they can do. Even now, sitting on wobbly $10 JVC speakers, they sound much better than expected. I'll try to write a short review once I'm done setting them up and spend some time positioning them.

Do you mean these stands?

I also found the following ones.

But the ones that seem most promising are these - but they are out of stock for 24"

Any thoughts on which ones might work better for me?

Thank you!

The farther out the supports are to the edges of the base, the more stable they will be, with the Sound Anchor 4-post type stands being the most stable.  Of the ones you've listed I think the Pangea might have the most stability.  Although you note that the Pangea DS300 is out of stock at Audio Advisor, you also have a link to the same stands at Needle Doctor where they appear to be in stock at the same price ($169 +  free shipping).

It would be nice to have a top plate that is also 8" x 10", but the Pangea is not too bad at 7.5" x 7.5".  Because speakers are front heavy due to the drivers, in this case I would set them on the top plate flush with the front and let the 2.5" depth hang over the rear.

actually the exact measurements of the speaker is 7.5x9.5 so 7.5 so the sides will be perfect but the back will hang out 2" if i go with the Pangea DS300. I don't think I'm likely to find anything better than these in these price ranges right?

… unless i was in Chicago :(

That's a great deal on those sound anchors. Too bad i don't know anyone in those parts.

If you are reading this and you are anywhere near Chicago, don't miss out on these.

I have TARGET HR60
which are too tall for my speakers .I need something in a range of 16-19 .Excellent condition with boxes and all accessories but shipping from Chicago would be rather high. I'm back home on Sunday .Rgrds, k

Chicago is turning out to be quite the hotbed for quality speaker stands. Anyone in LA?
