Cary SLP 98P (with mm phono support) - Hand wired point to point.  Zero negative feedback.   The design is getting old but it ain't broke so they still sell it.

DeHavilland UV3 for the downstairs system, Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 for the upstairs and the AVA AVAStar returned to it's previous owner.

I have a solid state one which is okay but these are better.

This one is pretty close to mine.  Dodd Battery Pre.  My faceplate is mesquite and has reddened with age.

There's just something about being able to see the tubes as in the DeHavilland or Cary that I really like 8). Those Dodds looks impressive. Keep um coming  :thumb:

S Clark. Your Dodd must be dead quite. How long do the batteries/charge last?

Yep.  I liked it so much, I bought another one (newer one tube model) for my small room system.  Dead quiet.  The larger unit will run about 10 hours or so without charge (but I leave the charger on it so it doesn't go dead).  Batteries last a couple of years.  The smaller unit does not have self contained batteries, so I use a much larger battery ( 50 AH?) and it has never gone down.
Very quiet units, very detailed.  You can really hear way down into the low db passages

Ok, here's the newer Dodd Pre... keeping thoughts on Gary as he tries to pull through a tough operation.  I finished the Mesquite faceplate and Gary cut the lettering.

One of the best purchases in audio I ever made is this Mac C220 a couple months ago.

It's difficult getting a clear photo with the glass face.
