Manley Neo-Classic 300B. Bit of a rare bird but not so much around here anymore - a friend heard mine and ordered one, then a mutual friend heard his and ordered one. Moral of the story : unless you're looking to spend some money, don't hear one of these... :green:

Conrad-johnson MET1, a vacuumtubed, 6-channel, analog-only preamp I bought several years ago and have improved somewhat.

Original internals with coupling-cap pairs (4uF 'propylene and 0.15uF 'styrene) circled. That 'logpile' of big white caps is five 20uF/600 'propylenes in the first stage of the HV PS.

The three new coupling caps, SoniCap Platinums for the front-L & -R and MultiCap RTX ('styrene) bypassed with Platinums for center.

Jupiter HTs and Platinums in the PS-output stages and a closer view of the 20/600 initial-PS caps.

I REALLY like the sounds of this preamp.   :D

It replaced a Jumbo Shrimp !  :thumb: That was the first preamp I owned that I really liked ! Bought my Shrimp before the big Manley price jump so it was a crazy value, too. Loves me some Jumbo Shrimp ! Manley preamps riding herd over Bryston power amps ( like my set-up ) is a really nice pairing IMHO.
