Hi Ned, you quoted that you mannaged in making a 4TB NTFS drive work on your BDP-1. Care to share how you did-it?
For 2 years i used this Western Digital 2TB black drive into a OWC enclosure and worked perfectly fine on my BDP-1, in FAT32 that is. So, in need of bigger HDD, i swapped the 2TB HDD for, again, a Western Digital black drive, but with 4TB capacity this time. Always in the same OWC enclosure.
Used Windows 7 built-in storage management to format it to NTFS on a GUID partition, the only choice i got cause MBR would simply reduce the 4TB capacity to 2TB. So tried the newly formatted drive on windows to check if everything was working normally, witch was the case.
Then connected the drive and started my BDP-1. Once the boot up procedure finished, witch showed the "Unsupported_FS" for a second, i checked with the Bryston web interface if the drive was present on the drive list, witch was there. Perfect then!!!? NO, wrong answer.
I use my computer to put freshly new ripped cds to the BDP-1 HDD with the network showing on windows. The Real problem is each time i clicked on the Bryston BDP-1 listed on the network, i couldn't see my hard drive, name BDPMUSIC. There is just a blank page! So no way to do any kind of file transfer from computer to BDP-1 HDD.
