To talk about the British music scene of the 60's, 70's and 80's, Eric Clapton. He played with so many dead and alive great musicians and bands. He's got to have stories to tell.
If I could sneak in someone to play solo for a few hours, Cat Stevens.

Speaking of the Ventures (who are still performing in Japan) I was amused to read that their drummer for "Walk Don't Run", Skip Moore, opted out of royalties from the recording, taking instead $25 for the session.
He later sued to collect royalties but failed because of his prior opt-out.

As to whom I would like to have over, here's a curve: Mary Margaret O'Hara, sister of Catherine and author of the amazing "Miss America" of 1988.

I gave a friend a copy of this performance I recorded off-air in 1988 and, to my amazement, he learned the whole performance exactly so he could duplicate it, body moves included! He was a very burly mountain man-type as well. It was hilarious!

I have her Miss America CD, Russell.  She has some devoted fans on Audio Asylum is how I happened on to her.  Canada has given us another eclectic artist with a beautiful voice, Jane Siberry:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrdxXonWr6E

Tom Waits with Ron Wood and Keith Richards would make for some very interesting conversation.

Keith Moon would have been fun to hang out with, but on second thought, not someone you'd want to have at your home unless you were planning on doing some serious renovations.

John Lennon. I'd like to tell him what kind of impact he has made in music and in many people's attitudes.

Great call Din :thumb: She is an absolute hoot!

The other guys I'd pick would be the Rat Pack...the lot of them. Talk about the stories that could be told.

Dave Gilmour or Fish (aka Derek Dick). They are the two most influential musicians in my life. I'd also settle for Kate Bush.
