I have on order a Bryston 4B-SST
2 power amp along with a pair of ProAc Response D30R floorstanding speakers. The rest of my system includes: Bryston BDP-2/BDA-2, Bryston BCD-1, Rega RP6 turntable/Dynavector DV-20X2 Low MC cart, Linn Akurate Kontrol pre-amp and Linn Uphorik phono stage.
I'm looking for a pair of top-quality, neutral, speaker cables but something not too bulky that will work great with my system.
Looking at the Bryston store, I can get the Bryston bi-wire speaker cables for roughly $500 for a pair of 12 foot lengths with banana plugs. If I look at some of the high-end speaker cables, I'm looking at roughly: $2,400 for BIS Audio, $1,600-$2,400 for Siltech and $1,000-$2,000 for Transparent Audio just to name a few.
What sonic improvements or sonic qualities can I expect if I were to go for the higher-end models that would not be possible with the Bryston cables? That is, what is gained with the higher-end speaker cables?
Please note that I'm no expert in this field and every time I visit a new audio dealer, I get a different story...
