I remember seeing Clapton, in an interview, watching Jeff Beck off stage and turning to the interviewer and referring to himself, Page and Beck, "He's the best of all of us, you know".

+1000!  I don't mind Clapton, some of his stuff is good, but Beck is from another stranger galaxy.  He's pushed himself hard over the years to evolve his playing and it shows.  Jeff Beck is unreal.

He was a nice boy, he used to cut the grass.
Maybe it is time for a little music, thanks for the laugh!

But he needed a couple of quarts of beer, to make the intonations ring.

The whammy in Jeff's hand is like a brush in Dali's.

It looks like Mr. Beck has a new album due out this Spring with a new band:
Rhonda Smith – Bass, Nicholas Meier – Guitar, Jonathan Joseph – Drums and Lizzie Ball – Violin

I've got something to look forward to!

A Joe's Garage Frank Zappa reference for those who didn't get it (not bpape)

I am a Clapton nut and have most all of his stuff.  I even went to Chicago to see him at the Crossroads 2010 show.  It was spectacular!  I gotta say though....."Old Sock" does not do it for me.  It was good enough for 1 listen, but i don't see myself revisiting it....

Perhaps what the graffiti on the subway meant say was:
Clapton is God?
