Hi all Audio Circle members.
The revamping of my listening room is slowly improving.
The contractor filled the cracks with cement,
then he sanded,
then he cover the cement with plaster,
then he sanded again
(Dust everywhere in the house,
even on the lower floor where we live)
today, at last, at long, long last he started to paint.
It should be all completed sometime next week.
Never sure if his workers will show-up, many times,
they have to go back to their shop because they forgot the roller
or the mixer for the paint, always something.
Hopefully, next week I will re-install all my audio stuff.
I'm so anxious.

Bob,

Yes, my room is completed and it's a success.  Woodsyi and Lou from Daedalus both checked it out and liked the room, too.  I just installed a big SRL diffusor (6' wide x 4' tall x 1' deep) along the back wall and I'm trying to decide if I want to add anything other sound treatments.  I'm afraid of deadening the room and right now it sounds about right.

Good to hear. Always nice to hear when large projects have happy endings.  :thumb:

Guy 13,

Being stoned/drunk out or just having half a mind must be a qualification in order to become a painter.  We burned through 3 painters 10 years ago we when built this house and it never got 100% finished.  The only thing painters are really good for is rumors (coming in at the end of the project, they and the local paint store, are great sources for bad mouthing gossip).

Hi JLM and all Audio Circle members.
The other thing with the Vietnamese painters (And any construction workers as well) is that while they are in the house, you have to lock everything and be beside them, otherwise they will steal small stuff (Pocketable items) from you.
As I often say and it's not very nice to the Vietnamese:
Give the chance to a Vietnamese to steal and he will.
I know, this apply to many other people...
Anyway, today it's Sunday and the painters are back
to try to finish the painting today.

Hi all Audio Circle members.
(I hope I am not stealing or barging into someone else topic here?)
It's 4pm and the painter had just finished painting my penthouse or my listening room. (Both the same)
Look good, the color is a little darker than the previous one.
I like it.
Tomorrow he will do some touch-up and then,
I will wash floor and windows.
Then lateron this week I will start hanging curtain and dust-off and push back furniture where it's supposed to be.

Hi Rob and all Audio Circle members.
The painters just finish retouching the spots they missed
and this evening I will double check again with my wife.
(I must get her involve,
next year it will be her listening room or Karaoke room,
the same for her...
If this evening the room pass the quality control,
tomorrow I will start washing floor
and windows.
Slowly (Very slowly) and surely, I am getting there.

Scottdazzle - Very well done.  The room looks great.  I'll bet it sounds wonderful too!  :)  We just moved into an older home (not that old) and I'm embarking on building out a combo media/listening/office room in our basement area, but can't get past the darn design.  If you saw my space you'd understand.  It's just so un-workable to get a large enough area to enclose properly.  I thought I had one solution, but now I'm second guessing that.  Between where the stairs come down, the walk-out slider, and the lalley columns, it's really hard.  Never had this much of a dilemma in my previous home.  Urgh!  I just don't want to sink 20k into  the project and it not work as intended.  I know no one can help me at this point.  I just need to figure it out and move forward.

Hi Rick and all Audio Circle members.
Thanks for asking.
My room did not improve much since the last time I posted some pictures.
I am now converting everything to 120V. (50Hz) to take advantage of my Majik Buss AC filtering unit.
I took out of the moth ball my Nakamichi BX-100 cassette deck, the belts need to be changed, I will order soon a bunch of small stuff, like tubes, cartridge re-tip, walwart for my Bellari VP-129 phono pre-amp, ss plug in rectifier to replace 5U4 and 5A4 tubes and maybe some Roxul acoustic bat to threat my listening room,
therefore stay tune, more is coming, but won't happen before the end of this year.
I am now on a much leaner budget, so things go slower.
Thanks for asking and your interest in my stuff.
