Error 5 on BDP2
« on: 20 Apr 2013, 12:25 pm »
Hi, just got my BDP 2 a few weeks ago. I normally leave it on for the lost part but have noticed whenever I turn it off and turn it back on later on I get a error 5. After I shut it off again and turn it back on the error goes away.

Anyone have a clue as to what this error means?

thx

Error 5 means the power is a touch too high in voltage. - May be a turn on surge.  Do you have a power conditioner?

Hi James,

I have an filter.

http://www.lampizator.eu/NEWDAC/Lampizator/NEW!_SILK_AC_filter.html

Ok please try plugging the BDP directly into the wall rather than through the switcher.

Is there an issue with the switcher?

Not sure but I want to eliminate that possibility.

Moved it to the wall and so far no error message. I will try it a few more times.

What are the specs that I need to mention to the manufacture of the filter? it should work through there.
