You know what. That Radian driver does not look too bad.

I might can even mill the back of the tweeter out just like with the P-Audio drivers.

I might just have to give it a shot and see what it will do.

Hi Danny and all Audio Circle members.
If you ever test/evaluate the Radian coaxial,
please let me know of the results.
Rare are the coaxial driver manufacturer that can do
what the PAudio can do.
If I decide one day to buy a pair of Radian coaxial,
you will supply me the xover.

Sure, but first you'll have to send me the driver in the cabinet that it will be used in for measuring and testing.

Hi Danny and all Audio Circle members.
The driver in the cabinet sent from Canada to California. :o
That's gona be very expensive...
Now that I think about it, the coaxial drivers is in the top section of my two parts  enclosure, after all, that's not too heavy and expensive.

Hi all Audio Circle members.

Just got my wood for the re-construction of Danny's V1.
The carpenter made a mistake and the pieces of wood are too long, therefore I have to cut them in half.
No saw, no problem, one Karate cop-chop and it done.
Well, that what I tought, did not work.

Just joking...
Tomorrow I will start installing the wood to double the thickness of all the walls.

Hi all Audio Circle members.
After three (03) hours of hard and sweating work and one hundred and forty one (141) wood screws later, I am done with the beef up of my re-constructed V1.
Below are pictures of before and after.
Next task.
Wiring of the four woofers and installation of the foam pads.
All that hopefully will be done by Sunday evening.
I am very anxious to listen to hi-fidelity blaster…

Sorry for the before pictures, cannot download them, but they are in a previous tread.

Hi Danny and all Audio Circle members.

At last, at long long last.
They are finished and producing nice music.
I’ve started the wiring of my V1 at 9am and finish with the foam padding at 6pm.
Of course, I’ve stopped for lunch
and took a one hour nap necessary for a 65 years old man like me.
Of course the wiring of the first V1 was wrong.
I am not the first one and won’t be the last one either.
No bass or bass like if I had two 4” drivers.
After careful re-checking, I found out that two wires were reversed on the driver’s coil, not the servo coil.
I’ve lost about 45 minutes to figure out what was wrong.
On the second unit, it was much easier, no mistake.
Same thing for the foam blocks,
first one was more difficult than the second one.
It would have been a lot easier to use Danny’s NoRez,
(No hot glue to burn my pinkies) but like they say:
No money, no candy or in this case no NoRez.
I’ve put on the grills and spin some CDs.
Bass, I have, deep bass, I have, quality bass I sure have.
I am happy again.
Those I will keep and bring back with me to Canada,
if I can find a  BIG gorilla to bring then down the fourth floor,
those are as heavy as my motorcycle.
Some pictures below, I hope you like them, if you don’t like them. I don’t care, because Guy 13 likes them
and I will be living with them.
If I could sleep with them, I would, but first I have to convince my wife to sleep on the sofa in the living room and that won’t happen soon, well, it will never happen.
Period.

Hi Danny and all Audio Circle members.
Thanks.
Sometime next week, I will have some important visitors that will audition my V1
and they are:
The two owners of ThiVan Labs.
They are manufacturer of tube amplifiers and OB speakers Made and design in Vietnam.
I am anxious to see what they will say about your drivers...
Of course, I will post what they said about the audition.

+1! Guy, have you thought of continuing the red stripe from the front corners to the back corners?

Guy, the rework on your V1 looks great!

I know this was discussed in theory before you took the plunge and did this build, but now that you have them in front of you, how much difference in the sound can you tell between when the red stripe is in place on the speakers (closing the gap between the floating top section and the woofer cabinet) and without it in place?

I really like the modular design.  It should make it much easier for you to transport them during your overseas move as well as allowing you to more easily experiment with your speakers, which is very nice to see you enjoying!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Captainhemo and all Audio Circle members.
I hope you don't mind me calling you Captainhemo,
I like your nick name.
My wife is very understanding, however, up to now,
she let me put all my speakers (Four pair of them)
all around our house,
but there is a limit to her kindness and understanding.
Asking her to sleep in the living room would give her an excuse
for filing for divorce and that, I don't want, therefore,
I will sleep on the sofa and let her sleep with my speakers.

Sometimes I think I should be a stand-up comic instead of a business man.

Yes, it will be expensive to sea cargo those to Canada, but they are worth
the money and the trouble.

The guys from Thivan Labs will bring a tube amp.
(Don't know yet which model)
and a DAC and their laptop with 1,000+ songs.

I have to clean up the mess left from the re-construction of my V1
and then, I will set up a meeting.
Hopefully should be this week, if they are available, of course.
Don't you worry, I will keep all of you Audio Circle members posted.

Hi bdp24 and all Audio Circle members.
It never cross my mind to have the red strip to go on three sides
and I don't think it would look nice or would be to my liking,
but that's me.
