Newbie introduction
« on: 27 Mar 2013, 02:29 pm »
I just learned about this site and am happy to join.

I am from upstate NY and enjoy meeting people willing to share their knowledge and passion for all things audio.

I look forward to making some new friends and having some greart conversations.

Thanks.

Welcome!

It's a good place with a lot of good people and discussions and semi-discussions.  :D

There's a lot of good reading here.

If you don't know a lot about audio (or do), don't be afraid to start new threads asking for advice.

Enjoy.

Another NY ACer, nice! East end of Long Island here.

Welcome, pglbook. if you already have a system you're proud of, maybe you want to post a video in this thread: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=114066.0

If not, enjoy building it, keep us posted!

Thanks for the welcome. I appreciate it. My current main system is a Yamaha CR 2020 receiver driving a pair of Polk SDA 2B speakers and Rotel CD player. I love the Polk SDA 2Bs and the Yamaha CR 2020 receiver is incredible. A true classic. I'd like to get my feet wet in the world of separates as I have always had vintage receivers. I am slowly learning about the world of power amps, pre-amps, etc.  That will be my next adventure, especially as I would like to get something with a little more power (around 200 watts would be nice) to drive some other (power-hungry) speakers I have. I have heard that Parasound makes great power amps and am looking for a Parasound HCA 1200 or 1500A although they are hard to find locally. Thanks again.

Thanks to all for the nice welcome.
I am a transplanted Long Islander myself, now living upstate (Albany).

I'm still a bit miffed that my brother sold my CR620 while I was in college to his then gf and replaced it with a crappy Kenwood integrated!
