I am checking into ordering several pieces from Altronics. If anyone is interested, I will grab a few extras. I am waiting to see if they have any "OEM" pricing. This is not a sales pitch as I will sell these to Circle members for the exact price I can get them for.

I will probably go with the ALPs pot once I get things setup in our preamps and integrated units.

Thaks for the link. I have not come across this one in my searching for a unit to install in our products.

  I'll keep the board posted.

Hello Joe,  Cool preamp, congrats!   To partially answer for Lonewolf, he's currently running NOS Rocket logo 6922's in place of the Phillips, a Marche 12au7wa replaces the RCA 5814a and an English G&C cv4005 is in the rectifier slot.  A highly recommended combo!

In my case, 6dj8's (Matsushita) replace the 6922's, an RCA clear top 12au7a replaces the 5814 and a Tungsol 6x4w (not wa) rectifier fills it out.  Another great combo, IMHO.  All but the RCA were had at Vintage Tube Supply and  LW's were sourced from Upscale Audio, except maybe the G&C?

Bill, thank you for the wonderful offer!  Please keep me in mind should things work out...

Not to try and advertise but before anyone gets too far down the road we have a remote kit that I've been working on for the last several months.   Should be available in the next 3-4 weeks and the retail cost is going to be about $95 with the motorized Alps pot (either 50K or 100K)  In addition I've had some custom aluminum knobs made for the Alps motorized pot so there will be a selection of knobs also.

The remote has a couple extra features.   First it can run off of either 6.3VAC (heater in tube amp) or 5VDC or 12VDC sources.   This allows mounting flexibility in that you don't need to use a wall wart or another power supply as long as you can find one of those voltages in your preamp.

Second nice feature is that there is a built-in relay for slow start, mute or other applications.

I'm also selling these to other small OEMs who might be interested.   Contact me for more information.

Yeah, but $200!!  A little markup shall we say?

Oh yea, ridiculous markup. That's why I'm going the DIY route. Of course Kevin will be coming out with what sounds like a very nice setup after I've already bought all the pieces. Ah well, such is life.
