I got an email today and the photographer that Magnepan uses has 20.1s and has taken to running DMWs with his speakers.
He must have one gigantic room if he's going that route.

Alright, that does it; I’m calling Wendell! I wonder how a pair of DMWs would integrate into my room. To be honest, the minor weakness I have (as illustrated with measurements) is in the range of operation of the DMWs - suggesting that they could help. I just wonder if employing them with large subs firing from the front corners of the room is an issue – I suppose that wouldn’t be. I do suspect that I’d have to remove the traps that run along the side walls (three on each side between the ones in the corners). I had anticipated a nearly equivalent expense which didn’t materialize. I could drive them with a Pass X150, which I suppose would be sufficient – one of my questions for Wendell. Hmmm...

That could be a very interesting experiment.

AFAIK, you'd only have to remove a trap that's close to where the DWM would go -- at the intersection of the side wall with an arc 12" in from the speaker arc. But I'm not really sure. The DWM's depend on side wall reflections to work so you might have to experiment some.

Perhaps, then, I'd only have to reposition the traps. Aside from the quarter rounds up front and the traps on which the subs rest, all of the traps (full rounds) are in the back half of the room. They're pretty easy to move.

I'd have to figure out the best way to wire the things into my system - that might be the real complication. The curiosity is driving me nuts and you guys are just pouring kerosine on that fire. I'm going to report the both of you (Josh and Steve) when I call Wendell Monday.
