I used this DRIcore product on my basement floor
http://www.dricore.com/en/eIndex.aspx
It is small and very easy to handle to haul down there, floats and locks together. The idea is that it is vented and slightly raised so if any moisture does get under there it can dry out with air flow. I nailed 5/8" solid bamboo on top and haven't had any problems at all with it.

Any ideas on how to find a suitable contractor here in Portland, OR? Unfortunately, I don't have the skills to do the work myself.
