When you say after a long time with the player on pause, do you mean long enough for the drive to stop spinning? On my little Toshiba Canvio drives, there's a light which will go out when that happens. I've never paused that long, but I wouldn't be surprised if that caused a problem.

Yes, the HDD probably stops spinning, but, will that be an issue? Chris, can you clarify if that is the case?

Something like that should only effect the first song...  Unless your tracks are 30+ minutes each.  What would be really nice to know is if this happens with just the Bryston USB drive plugged in?  When your playing back music how many songs do you have in the current playlist?  This information is found in the lower left corner of max 2.

Is there a way to prevent that skip on the first song? This is happening often, normally fter a long pause. I normally listens to albums so there are about ten songs on the playlist.
