HI All,

Some nice examples passing by indeed. Thanks for your racks!

As said, my ikea cabinet, which has 3 tiers of 17 inch width has become to small. Ideally I would look for a 4 tier 17incher, or a 1 machine higher 3 tier cabinet...
four tiers would give me the opportunity to put my recordplayer back in place again, next to the flatscreen. Shouldn't be too high for that reason, flatscreen on eye-height.

Love the wood, with closed sides, because of the fact cabling can be hidden out of sight easier, otoh love the modern, aluminium stands too, because they seem to fit the Bryston gear very nicely.
Something like a wider variety of Pauls tea table set would be ideal for me.

... so there i have it. The design is in my mind. Where to find it in real life though?

For audio racks, I fall on the more modest side of the scale.  I have a couple of Lovan Affiniti Pro5 pieces holding my equipment.  The piece in the center is a budget item from a "big box" store, as I don't fret much over what holds my television set.  I'm more strictly a sound person, with video taking a distant back seat.

You buy the base and can add as many shelves you want.

HI,
the Quadraspire looks nice, beautiful combi of wood and aluminum! Will check those out, Sanus has a lot of different models too, Lowboy is coming close I think.

Below you see 2 of the 3 tiers I have now, would love to make it 4 tiers wide, for obvious reasons... need to fitin the BHA1 and Bp1.5 along with my TD126mIII (for now)

Cheers Marius

I made this simple rack from maple butcher blocks and parts from 8020 Inc.

Decal, that looks sturdy and economical. Way to go.

How about a "low buck" approach

I agree with Scottdazzle. That hardware affords lateral expandability as well. I built something kind of similar using wood and hidden L-bracets, but my shelves aren't as substantial as yours. I like what you did. I really like how modifiable it is. Mine is as it will remain and is secured to the subfloor. I think I would have taken your approach if I had seen your photo a couple of years ago, but I'm not complaining.
