I always thought so, however, just checked my 4B and 6B, they are all torx head screws.

Check the wiki link in my previous message. The drivers are readily available, just don't try to use an allen key, they are not the same.

So, was the cleaning actually required after you opened it?

I wouldn't use contact cleaner. It may wash away thermal compound that's used on some transistors.

Bryston amplifiers don't use fans, and as such won't accumulated enough dust over their lifetime to matter.

If you feel compelled, just blow it out with some compressed air in a can.

It surprised me that my new 4B SST2 has Torx instead of Robertson.

I like the Robertson much more than the Torx, I'd change them just because ... - and yes, my old 4B ST has Robertson. It needs to be cleaned too, so this thread came out just in time  :)

I imagine the decision to stop using robertson screws is because of the problem getting drivers outside of Canada, I saw an ad. on Ebay a few years ago for a "special Bryston screwdriver"  just a plain old green robbie.
