OK
I can take a hint guys (Jack & Gavin). I know I am slow but I am computer challenged and posting with photos is a long drawn out affair for me.
I built my house in 2003 and at the time my system consisted of Martin Logan Sequels, a Forte preamp and amplifier, and an Adcon CD player. I designed the room around those components. My room is 14 X 21 with 12 foot ceiling. My back wall is built at an angle so it is not a square room.
I upgraded to a Red Rose system: Classic speakers, model 3 preamp, model 5 amplifier and added a REL sub. I also purchased and Primaire CD player. I added a stage in the front of the room to bring the tweeters to ear level. I then had my walls treated with fabric and sound absorbing material. (don't know what is was but it works).
In 2006, I went to CES and heard a pair of VR-7's powered by VAC and spent the next year and half scheming of ways to get my next speaker.
In the interim, I bought a Kaleidescape system along with Theta GEN VIII and that combo is my current front end. I also bought a VAC integrated amplifier. I waited 8 months for it but it was worth the wait. All that was missing was my VR-7s.
I got a chance to meet Albert at his "old" factory in San Marcos CA and he had a pair of finished VR-9's that he was breaking in prior to shipment. I liked the idea of active subwoofer so I changed course and decided on the VR-9's. Prior to purchase, Albert came to Vegas on business and was gracious enough to come to my home asses my room prior to purchase and felt his speakers would work just fine. (a true understatement)
I got my speakers at the end of 2006 and right out of the crates they were better than anything I had heard in my room. After break-in things got even better. I was in bliss and felt that no more changes were needed.
And then along came Jack and his threads on upgrading his VR-9's and how much better things were after the upgrade. I haven't met Jack but I feel like I know him and trusted his assessments about the upgrade. So I called Albert. He told me what was involved and because I lived close he would be willing to come to my home to do the upgrade.
Albert and Damon came up in April and completed the upgrade ( for details see Jack's thread). After spending 6 months with my MK II upgrade, I would encourage anyone with VR-9's to upgrade immediately. The improvement in sound is not subtle. I can't believe how much better things sound. The amazing thing is that this is improvement is independent of recording or type of music.
The REL subwoofer is still part of my system but only in use for movies. It is off for 2 channel listening.
All interconnects and cables are Analysis Plus.
Enjoy!

I know, I know....there shouldn't be anything in front of the sweet spot but the sound doesn't change with or without the chairs so they stay

Jack, maybe you can teach me how to rotate a picture
