I am not a fan but tuned in just to see if I might become one. I couldn't stand watching the lead singer contort ( I think he would call it dancing)...
Radiohead isn't for everyone,,, then again neither is Coldplay. Lead singer Thom Yorke is an odd sort with esteem issues and he freely admits it. His 2011 individual music video, Lotus Flower was a huge hit, not only for the music but Yorke's dancing interpretation of the music which is his forte. The video was nominated for Best Short Form Music Video at the 2012 Grammys so someone thought his dancing interpretation was quite unique. As for Austin City Limits, it's a Saturday Night religion for me,,, has been for years. ACL has graduated from mostly country music to now providing a wide variety of music gendres of today's biggest names. It should be (IMHO) a can't miss show for anyone posting in the Music Circle that has a home theater system, be it multichannel or 2-channel. Granted if I were listening to TV speakers, I would be a non-viewer. That has never been the case for me. . Cheers,Robin
Austin City Limits is the real deal and now that I (finally) have a DVR I should never miss it again....Checked out the video. Maybe it is his face I don't like . Something about him doesn't do it for me. Same for the music...
In America, we really don't have a model, it is the only perfect wonderful music show that we have in my opinion,,,,, there's nothing like it,,,,,
10/20/12Bonnie Raitt,,, also Mavis Staples of the famed Staple Singers. Cheers,Robin
How depressing, the Shins went from being one of the best bands in the world to being almost unlistenable.
Funny, I thought The Shins sounded great. But Dr. Dog, not so much.
Just saw Bonnie and her band in concert a few weeks ago, she's still got it.Wayne
