Since you already have the room pack, then I agree..an EQ on bass would be the next logical and cost effective solution.
I would however get the best speakers I could find now and then add subs and eq later when I could afford them, or now if you can afford it all....
I would chose number 2, and add the subs and eq later. That is only because I am familiar with the VMPS sound and like it.
I have not heard the Selah speakers.
I want to make sure you understand I am not making a judgement as to w ...
How do I hook up a parametric EQ, like the Behringer that I've seen posted on the VMPS circle, to the 10" side firing woofers. The bass responses between the two mains in my room are extremely different. I'm starting to think that an EQ is a must have in my system.
BTW - does anyone have any feedback on the VMPS dipole (really bipole) SE surrounds. Ribbonspeakers.net really likes them and says they are a great match with the ribbons. I just learned that Rick from Selah doesn't do bipoles. I have a bipole-like set up right now using two set of surrounds pointing in different directions. I really like the way it sounds, and in my opinion sounds a lot better than using one pair. This is another topic, but I think the more sound radiation in the surrounds, the better. I don't agree with the people that say bipole/dipoles are no longer needed in HT.
I've keep changing my mind. Right now, I'm leaning towards VMPS. This morning it was Selah. I just need to figure out how the EQ thing would work. Ideally I would like to use it on the 10" side firing subs and a separate sub Maybe, I should go with the RM30C and get a VMPS sub.
If I get a VMPS sub, which would be best for my room? My room is 14 x 15 x 8. the front half of the left wall opens up to the split level above. Would a larger be too big? I have a NHT SA-3 sub amp I could use for it. It's a class G amp with an active crossover from 35-150 Hz. It has 250W RMS @ 6 Ohms. Frequency response is 10 - 150Hz.
I know I'm kind of rambling here. I'm just thinking out loud. I would really appreciate any opinions about my ramblings
